Integrating Production Logs with Spotify
During a feedback session between the team and tutors, it was mentioned that one prominent USP that SunCoast possesses is the personality of the team. As a small studio, showing personality is a much more manageable task as opposed to a larger studio. Hence why we’ve chosen to embed Spotify into the blog to show what our highlighted song of the week is. Most likely in the future, this will change to an alternative solution to reflect the personality of the team.

Retrospective
As the submission of two modules has now passed, the team will now be onto writing the retrospective covering said modules. This and next week (until February 9th), I will be writing up my retrospective on the Art & Design module and Business module.

Retrospective
“I will be working on my Retrospective and also updating the first shot of our short film to have floating bottles in the ocean. I have never attempted this before so it will be interesting how I can make this work.”
What I’ve been listening to this week:

JACK DEVEREUX
“Focused on individual folder work such as finishing some blogs as well as working on the retrospective.”
What I’ve been listening to this week:

JESSICA HILES
“Following advice from Michael, I re-did the skeleton and made the controls and attached them”
"After the big presentation, we decided that we’d have dailies every Friday. To prepare for this, I wanted a fully functioning rig ready to show off and perhaps get into the layout pass if we had time. I had already finished a version of the rig for the turtle ‘Dex’ and sent it to Michael. He replied with the feedback that the skeleton wasn’t set out correctly and gave me an example to work off."
[SunCoast Production, Maya rigging SyncSketch notes]
"From this I made a new skeleton and rushed to get some orient constraints for Friday. It was a bit of a push, as I only finished it the night before. I had to screen record me moving the controls around on Thursday night before I went to bed, so the tutors had a better idea of how the weight painting looked. This was successful, but the feedback I got from Iliana was confusing. She mentioned it would be better to not have as many controls in the rig's flipper as it was ‘too complicated’. I only had 5 controls and she said to reduce it to 3. I reached out to Michael again to get a second opinion, as I was worried that losing control would mean I couldn't get the right shapes out of the flippers that we wanted. He agreed with me and said to keep it as-is, referring to a screenshot of a ‘Finding Nemo’ scene to give me a better visual."

[Finding Nemo reference]
"As you can see, I would need all 5 controls to get these shapes, so I kept the controls the same."
What I’ve been listening to this week:

MUHAMAD USMAN
"Momentarily working on my blog and documentations“

What I’ve been listening to this week:

PRIYA SHAH
“Finalized and Signed of MOU with Ocean Generation..."
