Website Prototyping

"Conversations have been ongoing about my 'Art & Direction' module contribution for the SunCoast project. This will entail the development of a website that will premiere alongside the animated production."

"I’ve started compiling a library of references by ‘Pinterest Diving’. Taking elements from some of the obtained references, I would develop my own compositions. These compositions consist of paper prototypes which I have conferred with the team for feedback. I conducted this to understand what looked appealing in the context of a website and why it worked."

"To support the development of the website, I have also been developing my illustrations skills. Following a similar pipeline to how I’ve managed the web development, I’m currently practising developing 2d graphics to benefit SunCoast."

"SunCoast’s website production is still within the conceptual stages of the pipeline. There are still huge improvements to be made and even after a full v1.0 release is published, I will most likely continue to update the design. The production of the website is planned to be completed by the submission deadline of the upcoming modules (~May 3rd)."

“Started shooting for our new presentation video, I was the camera operator and had to make sure everyone who was being filmed was seen clearly and focused on. Also shot extra content of the team working on the project and discussing to make sure our video looked professional”

“Ran into issues rigging, went to get feedback, planning for personal submission”

"Persevering didn’t fix ‌the rig and instead made it worse, because of this I reached out for help from our resident Creature Creation tutor Michael Davies as he’d helped me fix rigs in the past and I know he has a good familiarity with the subject."

"He got back to me after a few days with some draw overs of where I went wrong; he suggested starting again with a rigging shell and losing all deformation to make it more lifelike. This was a straightforward and sensible answer that I have overlooked as I over thought the whole situation. Next time I need to take a step back and see how the result has differed from my original plan so I can come to these conclusions for myself. Michael also had some suggestions for the joint layout which were very helpful as I’d placed a few joins, especially in the head and spine, incorrectly."

"The overall consensus was that I needed to start again and replace a lot of the joints. This wasn’t ideal, but it happened once, and it’ll no doubt happen again. This just proves the importance of planning and why I need to keep referring ‌to my plan and stop getting side-tracked."
