Master Spreadsheet
“I’ve started the development of the Master Spreadsheet, a resource intending to inform the team, and anyone of concern, about every aspect of the project. I’ve constructed a ‘Roster Sheet’ that details information about SunCoast’s team. This information includes tools which each artist has access to on their own personal computers (this doesn’t include tools accessible at university).

"I have also constructed a Gantt Chart that intends to portray the schedule of the project. It details how much time we intend to dedicate to each department."

General Estimates
Additionally, I’ve conducted research into the viability of the business by looking into what resources are needed for the business function to work and how much they would cost.

GEORGE MORRIS
“Making more test Renders to see how basic animations looked in a underwater test scene, while doing so I used the Movie Render Queue to get more comfortable with how it works and what controls you could apply to them such as Anti-Aliasing etc."
"Made more lighting concepts to showcase how some scenes could look with a basic idea of how we could light the scene for the render. I did these on Photoshop trying to photobash different pictures I found online into the environment to create a clear picture. I had difficulties when first starting as I was not confident in my concepting skills and had to learn through Iliana's lessons, tutorials on YouTube and through my own experience with Photoshop”

“Story Beat Drawings, voice over recordings, accelerate pitch."
"This was a fairly productive week, we ended up rushing some recordings the days before so it would be on time for the Accelerate Pitch on the 8th, with the microphone I brought in we got everyone’s done on time. However, some of the feedback we got was that some visuals we had in the promo weren’t our own. We may have worked on the shots but we can’t say we own the whole project as the video implies. This was a big shock to us and we didn’t realize it could come across that way, so we decided to completely re-do the video and hopefully make sure we don’t give that impression in the next one."
"Another piece of feedback was that we needed more of our storyboard visuals and that everyone in the group needed to do some art and design work, for this they tasked me with drawing the story beats. This took most of the week and will probably take up some of the following weeks as drawing isn’t my strong suit but I got some fairly clear drawings done."
"I will devote most of my attention to this and try to get it to look as clear as I can as some issues with the original storyboard were that some parts were a little confusing as the pictures weren’t clear. As I mentioned, drawing isn’t my strong suit. One thing I remembered is the drawing lesson we had with Iliana early in the year. I found that this was very helpful to me now as I knew I could take pictures and elements to help my drawing. I could also use the smoothing tool in the brush settings to make sure my lines aren’t as shaky and as a beginner, my lines were mostly unsure in the beginning so this setting was a lifesaver. With this combination, I got to a stage that was clean, clear and easy to understand.”

“We pitched our presentation as a full team. Through feedback by our industry partner, she had a strong concept to push our business further. She mentioned that we could involve an even bigger, profitable company with Ocean Generation on the side. And within our product you promote the major company through using their product and incorporate it into the film. This was agreed upon and it was actually a really good suggestion that we did not think of. The team discussed this statement and we thought if we do get a major, profitable company on board and approve we can use their product, we would make the product a solution for our film. The only disadvantage of this suggestion is that the film concept right now has to be changed, which could affect the production plan we created for this particular product. So, the goal we came up with was to contact businesses and if they do not respond in a week's time, we will continue production without involving major businesses. Another feedback stated that you currently have a budget for this film and a general yearly film budget, if clients would continue to partner with us. However, it is to branch out the idea of what is the plan to go further after this year, if this business would become more successful and/or if we do continue this start-up company. Through our group meeting in class, the first thing we prioritized was our story itself. We wanted the story as simple as it can be. The idea was to show the problem through CG using real time rendering and 3D Animation. We then end the film with a black screen and through editing skills and help of Ocean Generation, we would be using real life footage of the solutions that ocean generation want to promote and advertise customers to check their website out and donate to them."
