Introduction
Role: | Generalist |
Produced: | FEB 2018 / JUL 2021 |
Project Type: | Individual Project |
Location: | Escape Studios at Pearson College of London |
Description: | 3DEqualizer, Maya, Substance Painter. Matchmove and Layout. Modelling and texturing of asset. |

"Taking one of my previous assets that I had made and using it to integrate it onto a live-action plate."
Objective
Similar to that of Spirit Train, the intention of this project was to experience every step in the pipeline. Also similar to Spirit Train, this project would involve returning to one of my previous assets to save time modelling.
Focusing on the matchmoving aspects of the project, 'The Jukebox' would also look at reconstructing set geometry.
The project would feature a full CG integration with a breakdown of the matchmove geometry, reconstruction geometry and a shaded environment.

Matchmoving
Matchmoving for this project wasn't particularly difficult. The only thing that I needed to be mindful of was the reflections of the light on the shiny materials (the harsh light would hide details in the live-action plate ). However, I still wanted the matchmove to be accurate so I would achieve a high quality reconstruction of the environment.
Using the tutorial from Science D-Visions about their reconstruction methods. I utilised both 3DE and Maya to achieve an accurate reconstruction of the environment.
