Business Models

One of the resources that was given to us during our business classes was a document with a long list of different business models. Of the ones on the document, these are the ones I looked into.

OddWatch was beginning to develop it's identity and Unique Value Propositions. These UVPs would each associate with a business model.

[A strong art direction and prototype pipeline that surpasses outsourcing studios]

OddWatch intends to work with clients. I considered that Affiliation and Flat Rate business models would be the means of revenue for this aspect of OddWatch. For example, if a client asked for a set of graphics, I could provide a flat rate cost for a number of prototypes and pieces.

[Mentorship / Space]

Although this UVP is for our long term strategy, our mentorship space could use a subscription business model so that students would only need to pay for the time they needed access to tools. Options could include single days, weeks, months or even longer terms if the customer desired. We could also provide incentive by having a lower cost per day for longer term subscriptions.

[Breakfast]

As a student myself, I recognize some of the hardships that can I/we can endure. Access to free food is not only a great incentive to join/subscribe to OddWatch, but also a blessing to those who are financially struggling. We can help with this issue with a collaboration with OLIO.

OLIO is a service whose goal is to reduce food waste and a collaboration with them would allow to both reduce waste and provide a means to support students. Research has shown that free food/drink is a huge incentive at Pearson College of London. I do need to conduct more research if a a collaboration with OLIO would be beneficial with struggling students. Additionally, I need to mitigate the assumption that financially struggling students would want to travel to a physical space for access to free food.
